How to Use This Blog

Since we have lots and lots of videos here, you will need to know the best way of finding what you are looking for. Each post has the video(s) of the topic it is about. Many times there will be more than one video that is a continuation of the previous one. These videos will be posted together within the same post. To find what you are looking for, either use the search box or the list of categories posted in the right column.


Since the IQ system is constantly evolving, please keep in mind that some of the older videos may show features that have been replaced by newer ones.

Using Digi-Tech wedge patterns in a border

Here is another two part instructional video by Angela Huffman showing how to use Digi-Tech's wedge shaped patterns in a border. Angela sets the repeats in place using line pattern and shows how to use the vertical and horizontal offset buttons on the line pattern page. She also splits the pattern to make end pieces to fit the border.

Setting Super Motor engagement strength

The original motors' engagement strengths are set by physically moving the motors and listening for the growl. Setting the engagement strengths of the super motors is done by a different method.
Remove the motor covers and watch the spindle shown in the videos as you change the engagement strength. Do not move the machine.
The videos show the motor repeatedly engaging and disengaging. Yours will not do this - it will lift then lower once when you change the setting.

This video shows a weak engagement strength - watch how the brass collar at the base of the spindle does not lift.

This video shows the correct movement of the brass collar. The collar should be lifted by about 1-2 millimeters at the end of the engagement phase when the engagement strength is set properly.

Magnet Tool
